2013 OU ABSN Applications

I know from reading previous posts there were a few others that were applying to the OU ABSN program. I just turned my application in about two weeks ago. I'm hoping to be accepted to the Duncan program. My husband and I will be moving back to the Lawton area at the end of August. We are currently in Alaska with the military.

I know I have been worried, especially since the website has not updated the site with the most recent student stats. I would like to know what the last batch of grades looked like compared to mine. Nothing I can do now but wait. Maybe we could all keep each other sane here =)

Has anyone called to see if they have sent the letters yet? I have a feeling that they are giving out October 16th as an estimated date and we're going to be biting our nails until November!!

I don't think we will hear until early November! That's just my thought but I wish it would be sooner!

I've heard they try to give later dates to keep people from calling in so much, but I think on Friday I'm going to call and ask again. Mostly because I just can't take it!!

You will have to let us know!!! I'm dying here! I wonder if all 40 applicants met all the requirements or if that's just the number they received? I know a lot are thrown out because of late submissions or missed classes and stuff

Called today, and they said Nov 15

Yeah I called today and they said they had been hoping for Oct 15th, but now it will be middle of November. Blah!

Does anyone know how second and third choice picks work? Someone said that 40 people picked Duncan as their first choice, but second and third choices have to count for SOMETHING right? So, if someone applied to Tulsa first, and didn't have a high enough GPA for Tulsa, but put Duncan as second and had a high enough GPA for Duncan, would they get picked over someone who put Duncan as a first choice but had a lower GPA?

Rachel, that might be a good question to call the Duncan contact person and ask about! Hopefully they will give priority to first pick students that meet the requirements!
