My fiirst cna job in a LTC facility did not end well. I decided to give my two week notice after six months as a result of having been persuaded to do so by two nurses on the evening shift. They took me outside where it was dark and no one else was around, preceded to inform me it would be wise to "quit rather than wait to be fired" By this time my 90 day evaluation was two months overdue? Hmm :/ I decided to stick it out and make it to six months regardless. When much to my surprise I got my evaluation, didn't get a raise, no surprise, no one ever did. Forward one month later and I'm at the end of my first week of a two week notice when the same nurse that lured me outside on a cold dark night has decided to accuse me of "potential" verbal abuse? Her word against mine. No warning, no witnesses. This is the same nurse who allowed another cna to challenge/bully me in the hall when no one was looking?! I'm almost 50, the other girl is a 20 something brute!Management had opportunity to replace me well after my 90 day's passed. What with all the mandates they hit me with and the high turnover. I hope I can find a job in the future. All I ever wanted to do was be a home health aide. But you have to pay heavy dues it seems.

Most agencies want a year of experience so work another LTC job for six months and then start applying to home health agencies, you'll probably land one pretty quickly. Good luck to you.
