Other online colleges like Excelsior

Given my hectic work schedule, going to a traditional college is not a possibility, so I am investigating online colleges like Excelsior. I've heard good and bad about it. Are there other more credible online colleges similar to Excelsior? With a "credit by exam" platform? Most online colleges with nursing programs are more geared towards ASN to BSN degrees.

Also, when I'm investigating funding for such above mentioned programs, I'm finding that traditional goverment Sallie Mae loans won't cover "credit by exam" platforms. Is there anyway around this obstacle?

Any insight would be appreciated.
