OSU-OKC Fall 2015 Application

Published

Hello, students!

I am the Nursing advisor at OSU-OKC and I know many of you use this forum to gather helpful tips and info about Nursing programs, specifically regarding the application process. I know it can be a stressful time, but my hope is that I can make it just a bit easier for you :)

Here is what you NEED to know when applying to OSU-OKC:

- Print and complete the application, available on our website: http://www.osuokc.edu/nursing/pdf/OKC%20Nursing%20Traditional.pdf

The checklist on the first page is your best friend!

Here's what you need to include in the application you submit to our Nursing office:

1) Official transcripts from ALL schools attended (including an OSU-OKC transcript if you have taken classes here)

2) TEAS V results page

3) OSBI background check (must be an original report)

4) Signed/completed application pages from the application available on the website

5) If you are an OSU-OKC student, be sure there are no holds on your account AND confirm your major is declared as "Nursing." If you are not currently an OSU-OKC student, you must submit an application for admission to the university (this can be done online or in-person at the Admissions office) and submit official transcripts to the admissions office.

Common Questions:

What score do I need to have on the TEAS V?

-- 66% or higher

When is the deadline for Fall 2015?

--March 1, 2015

How and when will I know if I'm accepted?

--All applicants will receive a letter via postal mail with the admission decision. The review process typically takes about a month.

How many are accepted?

-- 64 students are accepted in the Fall and Spring semesters

Why do I need to submit transcripts to both admissions and the Nursing department?

-- The Nursing admission committee reviews only paper "in-hand" applications. Additionally, the Admissions office at OSU-OKC requires official transcripts to be on file if you are going to be enrolled in classes. Let's face it, if you're applying to Nursing school, you're hoping to be enrolled here soon! The two departments do not share information, thus you must submit official transcripts to both offices.

I am a current OSU-OKC student. Admissions has all my transcripts. What does the Nursing department need?

-- We need ALL official transcripts from every college attended, including OSU-OKC. You do not need to re-submit transcripts to the admissions office, but please confirm that they have all information up-to-date. This can be done by logging in to the SIS Web for Students.

As always, I am here to help you!

I see, speak with, and email a LOT of students, so thank you for understanding that it sometimes takes a week or two to return all correspondence. I really love my job, and I LOVE seeing students reach their dreams!

Thread has been moved to the Oklahoma Nursing forum to increase the likelihood that prospective and current OSU-OKC students get to read this information.

I turned in my application yesterday. I am so excited!

That's great, stephhastings! Best of luck!

Have the notification letters been mailed yet?

Letters are being mailed as we speak...Vicki Prince, the Nurse Science secretary, has worked tirelessly to get them processed. She mailed the first batch yesterday and they will continue to be mailed through the week. Please allow 1-2 business days for campus mail to process in addition to traditional postal mail.

As a reminder, everyone will receive a letter regardless of admission outcome.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

That's a lo of work for sure! Thanks so much for the update!

How many points would I need to be competitive? Thanks!
