Hello! I also applied to the OSU online FNP program for Fall 2019 start. On the Facebook live the CON conducted a few weeks ago, they said decisions would be made in February or early March.
It's going to be a long few months for sure!! I've heard the FNP program is tough to get into, so I don't feel super optimistic. My GPA is not great but I feel I have a strong professional statement and references so we'll see...
Good luck!!

Hi there,
Was doing some digging on OSU’s FNP Program and wanted to see if anyone got in for fall 2019 when I saw this post.
Unfortunately, I got waitlisted and am uncertain why. Have a 3.79 GPA. Worked in adult med surg for a year now am in the PICU (less than 2 years total experience). Thought I had good rec letters and a good essay.
Would you be able to share some of your background I.e. experience, gpa, etc. so that I could maybe see where I went wrong. If you don’t want to share, no worries! Hope it’s not rude to ask. Just looking for insight.
Thanks ?
Sure. Not sure if it mattered but I applied for online FNP. My undergrad GPA was definitely less then yours. Awesome job! I had a 3.4. I do however have 18 years experience as a RN. 11 years in hospital and 7 years office. My background is Pediatrics. My letters of rec were great -i think. My nurse manager, MD I’ve worked with closely over 10 years and another MD who is our Medical Director. I think the thing that pushed me over the edge was my grad statement. I am a 2 time cancer survivor and discussed my journey there and being on that side of healthcare. Hope that helps. Good Luck!
Hi there,
yes I did get in ? I plan to go to the orientation in August but I am based in the Midwest. I took part in the online version of the open house and I asked about them helping with clinical sites for online students. They said they do assist us but they encourage us to help as well. Hopefully that means they have some good connections outside of Ohio. We’ll see. Congrats all!
Yeah that’d be great For the FB page. Do you know how to do it? I sent an email to one of the directors in the program and asked if it was mandatory to come for orientation and she said strongly recommended. That’s great and all but I really don’t want to pay the cost of a plane ticket for a half day orientation. Would love to get more info on what’s covered during that time frame.

I'm starting this thread for OSU FNP applicants for Fall 2019. I've submitted my application and am now impatiently awaiting a decision. I also applied to the University of Cincinnati for Spring 2019, and received acceptance. I am an OSU employee, so I'm hoping for admission there.
Does anyone know when decisions should be expected?
