Hey I was considering Orlando Medical Institute I haven't seen any reviews on here about that school. Can anyone give me some insight about this school if you attended this school?

I looked at OMI briefly, but decided not to go. I had contacted their admissions person, and I sent my transcripts, application and everything over to them and never heard anything back. I even tried contacting them after a couple weeks, and nothing. Once I did a little more research I found out that they are not accredited in any way, and they have only graduated one nursing class so far. They don't even accept financial aid! Maybe things are different now, but be careful!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES ...
You know I wondered why I could not find very many reviews for this school ... well after much research and contacts it apppears that the paramedics and EMT students were afraid to review or speak poorly on their experiences due to the owners attachments and employment with the Fire department in the number one place all want to be hired into. The fire department is tight.
I attended this "school" the RN Program for 1 semester and although passing and paying all the money, I dropped the program with no regrets of walking away knowing I would receive a real education at a reputable school.Finding out that Florida hospital or ORMC will not hire you straight out of this school is a red flag. Their credits are not transferable to other schools, they will tell you that they are but they are not. I paid $1600 for 2 online classes (chemistry & math) and they are worth nothing, I spoke to Seminole, Valencia and UCF and they would not recognize them. Now I will take them over at a real school ...a short set back but that's ok. The "school" is owned and run by a Wife and supposedly the husband with a majority of her family working their. Her father running the desk, aunt running finances, and a teenage girl who is the best friend of their daughter taking on a bulk of their short falls. So when you have an issue or they have a personal issue with you there is no one to outsource. Responsibilities are bounced around with no accountability, straight answers or resolution with consistent delays. They have a person with no bachelors degree that is not an RN teaching pharmacology to a nursing class. Who also shared with us as a class that he was going to be taking the Rn program there at OMI the same program he teaches. Not sure if that's illegal. And if you are considering the "bridge" program, He also shared with us that he along with the director were creating the entry test to the bridge RN program, to be so hard that all would fail it and would be forced to have to pay for remediation classes that are overly priced. But some how he passed. Also he shared those grades up on the screen with us in the class including his own. Pretty sure that's a violation of privacy. The class consisted of 5 students now 4. So it appears they have to make money other unethical ways. This is just the tip off the iceberg, I didn't even get into the personal issues I have experienced here.
But Just to name a few:
-Delayed VA paperwork causing hardship & stress(3 + months) then after 52 + text messages with smiley emoji ( texting is the way she prefers) and multiple conversations with his wife and the VA, and still not having a resolution. So I very professionally and straightforward requested that my paperwork be processed, that I have been patient enough ( with no smiley emoji). She then reminded me/threaten me of her position at the school, and to know who I was speaking to that she is not my friend, classmate or coworker and that she owned the school. She then proceeded to call 5 times back to back after business hours.I then was Being dismissed from the program via text from his wife after she said my text came across rude. I then was back into the program (after never officially with due process as to why the dismissal) after she unprofessionally, embarrassingly told the staff I was being dismissed. ( did I mention I am 1 in 6 that I know of that have been dismissed from this program)
-Delayed transcript request took them 6 weeks after $55 payment and multiple request and having my husband now having to go through text with felex the owner, they still are delaying to update and correct a grade. And as usual the buck is being passed with no accountability or ownership.
- Delayed response to quejstion pertaining to a class assignment with 45 + days and having to call a meeting with my husband.
-Email correspondence shared with others not involved then shared with students as a joke. (Privacy issue)
-Bullying with their positions
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON ...YOU GET THE POINT.
If you worked so hard to get to a place like this and are ok with graduating in a stained filled hall with a poster drop behind you not knowing your future of being hired at your choice of hospitals, then so be it your decision.
I was not paying $20,000 for that.
