Orlando ASN to BSN in which school? Help! RN or LPN first? Private school worth it?

Published

Hello All!

Hope all is well!

Not sure if this is in the correct section of the website, and in the search box I see a couple about this school, but nothing recent.

I was going to begin a LPN program at TECO this January 2016 but missed the HESI at a 74% when passing was a 80%(bummer). The next LPN program begins August 2016 as a part time which would take me a little over a year to complete.

Then from there cross-over to RN which from my understanding would take another year. It is more cost effective but in my opinion the time it takes for LPN to RN would take the same amount of time to just go head for a ASN then get my BSN at UCF.... My question is are the private schools worth the cost? Creditable for employees like would employees hire? Educational wise? Anyone who had a experience with a Private college in Orlando like Keiser, Herzing, Medtech please help me out in your feedback good experiences or bad! Thank you all so much! Or should I just stick with the LPN to RN route?

Stay away from private schools. They are nothing but scams especially Medtech.

The schools you listed ARE 'private' but the main stay way reason is that they are 'for profit'. Not all private schools are for profit. For example, Harvard is a private school. It is not a for profit school.

And yes, you should stay far, far away from for profit schools.
