so I am really really new to nursing I got hired on at a hospice care nursing facility, that I start orientation on this coming Monday.
what i am curious of as a future HHA is orientation training the equivalent of getting certified as a HHA?
I don't know how necessary getting certified as a HHA but looking at from a costumer/ client's view point if I was in their shoes i think I would much rather have a person hat had a certification coming into my home then some that did not.
I think possibly the best thing for me to do would just be to bring it up and talk about with my teacher when I got in for my orientation this coming Monday

Definitely talk about it. It sounds like you will get HHA on the job training. Usually to get certified you go through an actual accredited training program like a CNA (I'd assume).
HHA work can be taught on the job but remember to ALWAYS notify the nurse of any concerns you have even if you feel silly. We'd rather be bothered with something that isn't serious than not bothered by something that is serious.
yeah thats what I thought too I was actually looking into online school programs you could get an HHA certified and I think it might be worth my time and money too look into if this is something I want to do. I just can't do at this moment right now cause I am finishing up my Veterinary Technician training....but I plan to have that wrapped by June...and I could always do more at home learning to expand my knowledge.
That ALWAYS seem like a good thing in my book.
