My director ordered me to recert a case tomorrow (11-12) that is "late - it got missed". The first episode ended 11-10. I have never done this before.
Shouldn't this be a new SOC instead of a recert? The window for recert has passed.

At my agency I would need to discharge for missing recert window and then do a new admit. Lots of paperwork. Lots of time. Large cost to agency.

I wonder how they think they will make it fly?
I have seen all kinds of things.
I know what you're saying.
The corporate "QA" people had a lengthy discussion about this and backed down from the orders to recert after end of episode.
Needless to say, I quit my full time position there and no longer listen to such nonsense.
Just when I think I've seen it all - I see something even more ridiculous than ever.
Thanks for the input.
Good for you! I would not being recert after the window period had ended either. I remember one time being asked to do that(the only person who had seen the pt. within the 5 days before end of POC....was an LVN!) I refused too! :)
