Hello!
I am a pre-nursing student and trying to figure out my options. The school I want to apply to just had it's GPA increase over .2 points to where the average fall GPA was a 3.86 and so therefore the average spring GPA is going to be a 3.67 instead of a 3.47. I changed my major from pre-med to nursing and am not a competitive applicant anymore. I switched to nursing because I wasn't doing too well in my pre-med classes and because I realized I wanted more hands-on patient care than decision making and diagnosing. However I took a lot of classes that I didn't need and I didn't do as well in them as I should have so my GPA is only around a 3.36. When I made the switch to nursing my gpa shot up and I did so much better in my classes I knew it was the right decision, however now I am in a position where I am not a competitive applicant. My school does not require the TEAS but it seems like the majority of schools do. Moving forward, what would you advise me doing to become a competitive applicant at other schools? I know I feel called to nursing I'm just feeling really discouraged about the increasing GPA requirements.

Check about the schools' policies for retaking classes and then retake some?
Our school doesn't recommend retaking classes unless you get less than a C in the course and even then they would just average your 2 scores.
