I have read on here over and over how difficult it is to get nursing credits transferred to other schools.... I realize it isn't easy. I was recently dismissed from my BSN program in my senior year. I was lucky enough to have enough credits that I was able to graduate with a Bachelors of General Studies with an emphasis in nursing, so my 4.5 years were not a complete waste. I am looking for any and all advice on where to go next. I am looking mainly in the Indiana or Florida regions, but am willing to relocate if there is a place that will take transfer credits. I am also looking at 2nd degree bachelor programs, but it just hurts my heart to start completely all over again when I am so close to the end. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if the amount of credits I have could potentially get me a ADN certification/ degree and then I would be able to do RN-BSN online? Like I said, any and all advice is appreciated! I am trying to weigh all options and go the quickest way possible!!

It is very unlikely that any school will accept those nursing credits, especially if you're talking about going to another state. Each state's BON sets the curriculum that must be covered; however, each school may arrange that curriculum as they wish. That means med/surg 1 at School A may not be anything like med/surg 1 at School B and thus why schools don't accept credits from other programs. You may have no choice but to start over again regardless of what program you pursue.
As for having enough credits for an ADN, it's not just the number of credits that matters; what matters is that you have learned all curriculum set forth by the BON. If you haven't completed a program, you haven't met that requirement and thus will not be granted an ADN from any program.
