any opinion about palomar medical center please

Published

Hi everyone. I have taken a RN position in Palomar Medical Center. I would appreciate if you could give me some opinion on this facility. I am thinking of renting an apartment close to the hospital. Please give me some idea about the place including cost of living. Is Escondido a nice place to live in? Hope to hear from you guys.

It depends on what you consider affordable. San Diego County is more expensive than most places, but Escondido is less expensive to rent in than much of the area, but you'll want to choose your neighborhoods carefully. The area immediately surrounding the hospital is a little rough. I probably wouldn't live there. It gets very hot in Escondido in the summer, so if you do rent (preferably in one of the many newly developed areas), be sure to factor in the cost of air conditioning. I should put a disclaimer on this post, though, because I totally hate the heat. I've lived in the North Coastal corridor for almost 20 years, and I'll stay here till I'm dead.

I live in Escondido, on the border with San Marcos. There are a lot of nice areas and a lot of not so nice areas. That's to be expected since it is a city with 5 zip codes. What kind of housing are you looking for?

i would say a 1 bedroom apartment, furnished if possible.

I would look in the 92026 and 92027 zip codes when doing a search. There are lots of apartment complexes but I don't think they come furnished, that's not a common thing here. Look on rent.com or signonsandiego.com as someone else recommended. Those two zip codes are nicer and have lots of homes in them vs. commercial zones.

Good luck!
