New Grad looking for OR job. HELP

Specialties Operating Room

Published

Hello.

I am a new grad and have decided to find an OR job. Does anyone know of a good facility that takes new grads? I am very flexible and would be willing to move anywhere in the states for a good opportunity. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

In TX, UT Southwestern, Baylor, HCA, etc.....there are many that have OR-internships.

UTSW is a 9-month program.

Thank you Fun2Care!! Are these hospitals that you mentioned near a major city?

UT Southwestern is in Dallas.

HCA, and Baylor are located all over...Dallas, Arlington, Ft. Worth, Austin, etc....

You'd be better off checking out the websites for the particular hospitals to find locations. (Maybe even some are close to where you are.)

You can pretty much go to any city in the United states. Pick an area you like. I would recommend a place that is level 1 or level 2 trauma center to get a good all around experience incorperating all services and high acuity. After a couple of years you will be able to go anywhere. Not too biug of a facility maybe 15 or 20 ors so you dont end up being isolated to specific services then you are "stuck" doing only one or two services. Make sure they have a formal preceptorship program or you will end up not knowing why you are doing what you are doing as far as aseptic technique etc. Good luck:up:
