There is an assistant I work with who stated that I am not her boss, that only the Manager is. However, as Charge, I am her first line boss, whether either of us likes it or not.
I'm not powertripping, I just am in charge by virtue of having the license. She's in nursing school and I can hardly wait for a subordinate to lip off to her one fine day. Ah, yes, sometimes life does favor us. :p;):nuke:

The problem is that the people who are the worst at being "insubordinate" are horrible when they themselves are in charge. They are often bossy, rude and inconsiderate. I used to work with a tech who told me she knew more than me. I just had to smile and move on about my work. Sometimes there are just not words.....

You got that right.
I once had an employee tell me, "I could do your job". I replied, "Please do, I'm tired of working 50+ hours a week and only getting paid for 40, of being the one the higher-ups call whenever there's a problem, of being the one who has to do budgets, writing up near-miss reports, end of the week/month reports, and do your job when you call in sick."
That was the last time she said that.
Just like the DON discussion in another thread, responisiblity can be a curse.
