ONLINE Second Degree BSN Programs!

I am looking into second degree BSN programs ((specifically online as I do not want to move and am hoping to do my clinicals locally)).

So I am seeking advice from others doing similar searches. I have combed the web including rnforum.com ((I think that is what it's called)) and allnursingschools.com ((which DOES NOT have all nursing schools!)) and have found a couple in Texas. TAMU Eline program and Texas Tech Accelerated Second Degree BSN.

Does anyone else have any suggestions about online BSN programs for people who do not have prior medical experience but do have a BSN.

Also, I live in Austin and am trying to stay local. I am thinking TAMU and Texas Tech are my only options!

Hi Carebear5 ~

I'm in Austin too and I am in the same boat, those are the 2 programs I am looking into. I have signed up for Health Alterations via TAMU for this coming Spring and plan to apply for ELINE in late Feb for their Summer 1 start date. I chose to apply there first because there are less pre req's, so if that doesnt work I will start working on the others I need for Tech.

How far along are you into your pre reqs? I have to take Physiology & Health Alterations this Spring and I am done. But, I am really nervous about Physiology, I was not able to get the prof I wanted and I am stuck taking a night class at Rio Grande. I hear this prof is tough, but its a hard class regardless I guess.

Good luck and let me know if you find any other programs.

Hello!

I also looked at both programs. I am hoping to start the Tech BSN program next fall. After comparing the two, I found that Tech was quicker, cheaper, and I had less prereqs to take. Let me know what you decide to do!
