UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Hey there! I will applying for Summer 19 as well, thank you for creating this thread!

I haven't taken the HESI yet, hoping to do so mid November. I just applied yesterday so will be submitting transcripts next week for the evaluation. I've been told admissions is only concerned with nursing prereqs GPA, science GPA and HESI scores, not the cumulative GPA. Hoping that's the case as I too have a grade or two I'm not the proudest of!

Any tips for the HESI? Do they still make you take the critical thinking portion? Best of luck through the application process!!

I noticed the "due dates" on my to do list say 3/15/2019 which seems odd since the application deadline is 1/15/2019. Do your due dates reflect this as well?

I'm applying for the Summer 2019 too! I'm going to submit my transcripts when grades are posted in December. Hopefully it boost my GPA.

And they do still require critical thinking. I believe it might be a 750+

Have you applied yet? Do your transcript due dates show March 2019?

From looking at past threads, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to who they pick. Everyone says something different, even people who work at the school lol

It doesn't show on UTHealth's website that you need to take Critical Thinking, but I took it anyways because I'm also applying to Lone Star.

A great tip I have is to look on Quizlet for HESI questions. People from past tests often post questions they remember. While you probably won't get the same questions, it's still nice to see how problems are worded. For the Math section, just memorize all the charts & conversions in the Elsevier book. It's such basic stuff. I also used the Pocket Prep app which I loved for Vocab, Reading, and Grammar. A&P was just knowing your stuff from class, though I did get some weird questions that were more so covered in Nutrition.

Not sure about transcript stuff yet because I am applying once grades for this semester are posted.

Hi! I just got into the UTH Pacesetter program for Spring 2019, so I figured I can answer this question. You do not need to take the Critical Thinking portion. You might want to check if other schools you are applying to require it though. I originally had taken the HESI for UTH without Critical Thinking, then later on decided to apply to another program that required Critical Thinking. I ended up being able to take that separately for the other school.

Good luck!

Thank you for the info! Congrats on getting in for Spring that's awesome!! Do you mind me asking your stats (GPA, HESI, ETC)? I like seeing how I measure up to those who have been accepted if you don't mind!

Hello all!

I also am applying for Summer 2019!

My stats are a

93.6 on the HESI

4.0 in Science class

3.9 Nursing Prereqs

3.8 Overall GPA

Good luck to everyone! I am very nervous but it seems like a lottery system! Also will not be submitting my transcript till the end of this semester, hoping to boost up my GPA! Again, good luck to everyone!!

You have amazing stats! I'm personally on the lower end of "average"

Nursing Prereqs: 3.62

Science Prereqs: 3.5 (still finishing 2 of them!)

Overall GPA: 3.68

HESI: Taking end of November

I currently have my BBA in Supply Chain Management, not sure if they're concerned with having a previous degree or not. I am completing Chem in a winter minimester and A&P2 in an 8 week session starting in January and am hoping they'll see that as dedication because they are no joke taking them in a much shorter time period while working full time.

I'm also attending the UT Webinar on Monday, so hopefully can get some insight from that!

No problem; I'm the same way!

HESI

Overall: 98%

AP: 100

Math: 98

Vocab: 100

Grammar: 100

Reading Comp: 92

Critical Thinking was 950, but I don't think they got that score since I took that separately for another school

Nursing GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 3.72 (that's like over 2 degrees' worth of stuff from a school that calculates differently. Depending on who calculates, it varies btwn 3.71 and 3.75)

For more comparison, I'm in class with two other people that got in. One had a HESI in the 90s, and the other scored an 88 on the HESI, so there is a pretty wide range of scores.

I just submitted my application for Summer 2019 but I can't log in or anything. Do I have to wait until they actually receive my application before I get a username?
