Hi Nurses & Students!
In your opinion, what is the credibility of online nursing programs?
Are there any students enrolled in an online nursing program? How is that going? How do you do the clinicals?
Any nurses out there who have done this in the past? What was your success in obtaining a job after graduation?
Thank you!

Are you referring to prelicensure programs? If so, no such thing as completely online exists. There must still be an in-person clinical component.

Exactly. Marian University here in Indianapolis offers all of the didactic portion online. Students are still required to go to campus for lab hours. They also have clinical hours to complete. I am currently working towards my PhD online. I love online learning. People think taking courses online makes for an easier journey. I will be more than happy to say that is the furthest from the truth. Online courses are as rigorous as traditional courses.

Yep. Talk about having to keep yourself motivated because there's no classroom to have to show up in at a certain time, you're in your own home on your own computer where there are so many distractions (ooh, a Facebook notification!), you most likely won't ever meet your classmates in person, etc. And that's just in addition to still doing the actual work.
