Online nursing programs?

Published

Hi, sorry for such a general topic, but I am new here. I am 35 years old and want to switch careers, thinking very hard about being a nurse. My mom was a nurse and loved it and I know there is always a future in the medical fields. Problem is with a wife and a 2 year old and working for the family business I dont know how I could possibly educate myself and work at the same time. Every situation is unique, as is mine. My family business may/may not have a future after being in business 60+ years, but that's another story.

I have a Bachelors degree but not in nursing, not even in the sciences. So I do realize although I have a lot of my general ed's done, I have a ways to go for either a second Bachelor's (in nursing) or to try to get into a Master's program, taking the necessary prerequisities and all.

Is there any online colleges to where I can get a nice chunk (or at least some) of the degree in nursing? Money is not as much of a problem as time is for me.

Thanks any help would be so greatly appreciated. I am wanting to provide and am always trying to think a step ahead as to not get caught in a career meltdown.

not that I know of. You can take many of the non nursing courses online but not the nursing courses. There really is no way (that I know of) to do that with the clinical requirements. There are plenty of accelerated programs, some weekend programs, and even a one day a week program in Jersey. But no online for your intial rn.

Good luck to you.
