Hi!
I'm going to start off by stating that I have very limited knowledge regarding the "ins and outs" of nurse practitioner programs. I have always wanted to continue my nursing career, but I've recently found myself living abroad in England for the next two years.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with starting, completing, or taking a break from nurse practitioner school due to a situation like this. I would love to be able to start an online-based NP degree while I'm living here, and possibly finish when I return to the States. Is this completely unrealistic? Will it depend on the program?
Thanks for any input!

I wouldn't think there would be many programs that would enroll you while living abroad, but who knows now with some of these outlier programs.
At a bare minimum, you'd need:
1. An active RN license in the states.
2. Part time schedule where you could front load non-clinical coursework.
3. Be ready to be back in the states prior to your first clinical semester. Then ideally your school would be placing you in preceptorships.
Honestly its not a good investment on your part to do it this way.
