Please! If anyone can help me, I am getting very discouraged trying to find the right program. Does anyone know of a program that exists that is something similar to a direct entry psychiatric MSN. The coursework has to be online, with the option of clinical's being in a place of my choosing. My problem is that I live in a very rural area so my options are limited as far as traveling to school and clinical's. It also has to be a direct entry program because I am not an RN but have a bs in psychology and a ms in professional counseling. Thank you!

There are no online direct entry MSN programs for non-RNs. Basic nursing education leading to licensure would have to be "in person." Once you are an RN, there are a wide variety of online graduate programs in a number of advanced practice specialties. Is there an ADN or BSN "basic" nursing program in your area?

As elkpark stated there are not direct entry online programs for non-nurses. You will either need to get your ADN/BSN in-person locally and then apply to an online program for MSN or be willing to move to where there is a program that allows for direct entry non-nursing students.

You have a BS in Psych... find an accelerated BSN program and finish that in 18 months or so... then find some sort of MS in Nursing Psych. This is your only hope to quickly get it done.
