Online Colleges

Hello Everyone,

I am currently serving in the army and i know i want to go to nursing school as soon as i get out. Here is some background information, Currently I'm going to a online university (American Military University), and i will have a BS in Sports and Health Sciences. Will colleges accept this degree for the accelerated nursing programs? The online college does offer most pre-reqs such as Anatomy,Physiology, Biology, and Chemistry. There are also labs that goes with the classes. Thanks in advance!

I also got out of the military (Air Force) and while I was in the only class I ever took was speech while stationed in Korea through UMUC Asia. That class was transferrable, as well as the physical education from basic training (4 credits).

I see no reason why your degree wouldn't be accepted. I would check with the colleges you plan on applying to for nursing school. That would be a huge ordeal if you found out all the time and money you spent getting your BS just to find out it is a hoax degree...

I would go over to the military nursing and uniformed service nursing board and see if anybody there went to AMU.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to chime in on American Military University (and it's sister college American Public University- commonly known as APUS) are both Nationally and Regionally Accredited. If your nursing school accepts transfer credit, they will accept it from APUS.
