Hello. I was wondering if anyone know about CSN and NSC's policy for accepting online AP class. Thank you for your help.

I took all of my science online at Rio and it was accepted by CSN. It would have been accepted by UNLV if I had decided to go so NSC will probably accept it also. I don't think it is the online thing that bothers them, but rather the school that it comes from. If it is a school they have never heard from then you will be required to submit curriculum plans before they decide whether or not to accept it. This goes for both online and ground classes.

Up in northern NV TMCC will accept the online, but UNR will not for any of the science classes!
I applied to UNR and had my transcripts reviewed and they accepted my science classes. Perhaps they have changed this since 2009. Rio is not an "online" school anyway. They just happen to have online classes but they are a fully accredited community college. I know in Las Vegas they will accept them because I am a nursing student.
I think it has changed, here are the 2010-2011 docs
http://hhs.unr.edu/osn/docs/BSNChecklist10-11.doc
and within - it says
(5) BIOL 190, not required by Nursing, has a prerequisite of CHEM 121.
BIOL 223 has a prerequisite of BIOL 190 & CHEM 121.
BIOL 224 has a prerequisite of BIOL 223.
BIOL 251 has a pre-requisite of BIOL 190.
NO online courses accepted for science requirement or equivalent.
(6) Approved courses: CHS 310: COM 202, 302, 312, 315, 400, 434.
NO online courses accepted for communication requirement or equivalent.
Well that is new information, but here in southern Nevada they don't care. As long as the courses come from an accredited school you will be fine.

hey what is the equivalent to biol 189 and biol 251 at rio?
For 189 I am not sure what the equivalent is. It would be best to ask the admissions office at the school you plan to attend to see what they say. I took this class previously in my college career and transferred it in. As for 251, the equivalent is BIO205 at Rio. For A&P I the equivalent is BIO201 and for A&P II it is BIO202. I know these three will transfer if you plan to attend CSN.
