I just got the call earlier this week that i got the job!!!

I am very excited!

Any one else get the call to start at John Muir Aug 4th for the new grad program?

What department? She told me they are not sure what department yet but that i have the job!

I don't know anything about them other than their advertisement for the new grad program, but congratulations! It looks like a great place to work at. You'll have to post later if you like it or not, I've been thinking of that new grad program once I finish nursing school.

Hi-

I'm interviewing with John Muir Hosptial next week. Since you were hired not too long ago, I was wondering if you could give me any pointers for my interview---( they didn't specify what kind of interview it is--individual, group, etc) types of questions to prepare for, etc. Also, how does the interviewing process work? I recall someone mentioning a pre-panel interview-- is that what I'm technically going to for my first interview? And, what are your thoughts on their 5-month long training/residency program (have you enjoyed it, do you think you've learned a lot, etc.)

I'd really appreciate your input!

Thanks!

Hey,

You have to take a pharm test when you get there. That is built in the time they want you there. You will meet with the recruiter. They will ask you a series of interview questions. After those comes the "clinical" questions!

YIKES!

they are hard....just try your best. They if you know your stuff you should be able to answer them real fast. One question is also a priority question...ie...what pt would u c first.

The program is GREAT! But we are the last class that will be going through it. But dont worry you will get a very similar program. It is awsome!

It is so good to get this review of all this information in a non-stressful environment! I really feel like a i am learning a lot!

Plus, my mentor and preceptor are GREAT! I love working with them. I would say like 95% of people love workrng here and once in a while u hear someone saying they aren't happy. But every place has its problems.

Also, everyone loves the "versant" group and are very welcoming!

If the recuirtor ask you back for another interview, which will happen on the spot, it will be a panal interivew I had 9 people there.

Well let me know what else i can help with!

good luck

Thank you sooooooo much for the info. I really appreciate it!! I'm pretty nervous, but having some idea of what to expect helps. I'll let you know how the interview goes.

Well, my interview went well. I was asked back on the spot. Next is the panel interview (in about 2 weeks)....

If you don't mind, I have a few questions--

I'm assuming the normal interview questions and scenario questions... can you please give me an idea of what to expect? Do you think there's much I can do to prep? Who will be interviewing me (RN's, managers, etc?). Also, how long after the interview did you hear whether you were hired or not?

Any info is much appreciated!

Thanks!

If you're still following this thread, can you give some insight into the pharm test? What is it like, and any advice on how to prepare?

I was hoping that if there was any one out there who had interviewd with John Muir (gillijr1001, relax925, or anyone else) and can give some more insight into the interview process.

As I've read, there's an initial interview with the nurse recruiter with a pharm test, general questions and clinical questions, and then there's a panel interview with about 9 people, but more information would be great!

-What is the pharm test like? Is it mostly dosage calcualtions, or specific questions regarding meds?

-Can you give some examples of possible clinical questions?

-What is the panel interview like? What types of questions do they ask.

I'm new here so I can't PM yet, but any further help would be GREATLY appreciated :-D

How did it go? Can you possibly answer the above questions you had asked for us now in that position?

Thanks!

I wish I could share with you, but I got a call 6 weeks before my scheduled interview saying they were sorry but they had already selected all if their New grad Residency hires and they cancelled my interview. Sorry, wish I could help.
