fellow home health nurses and nursing informaticians,
the onc is looking for home health/delivery nurses who are using mobile devices to deliver care in rural areas.
we would like to have rural home health nurses' voices represented at an upcoming event we're hosting. we plan to host a free, public mobile device roundtable event in the march to gather public and subject matter expert input that will help inform the development of an effective and practical way to bring awareness and understanding to those in the clinical sector about securing and protecting health information while using mobile devices.* we plan to have federal agency representatives, practicing providers, and representatives of patient, providers, and industry organizations to form three separate panels to
- discuss the current legal and regulatory framework for providers and other professionals using mobile devices
- current issues and challenges of mobile devices by providers and other professionals
- real world privacy and security solutions/strategies/practices
*onc's office of the chief privacy officer (ocpo), in working with the hhs office for civil rights (ocr), recently launched a privacy & security mobile device project. the project goal is to develop an effective and practical way to bring awareness and understanding to[color=#333333] those in the clinical sector to help them better secure and protect health information while using mobile devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, and smart phones). building on the existing [color=#c98f33]hhs hipaa security rule - remote use guidance, the project is designed to identify privacy and security good practices for mobile devices. identified good practices and use cases will be communicated in plain, practical, and easy to understand language for health care providers, professionals, and other entities.
we'd appreciate any suggestions or leads on potential individuals who may be interested in speaking on a panel.
thanks so much!
