On the verge of being dropped from the program

Published

Hi, I'm sure there have been TONS of other posts like this one ... I am in a program that requires an 80% to continue the program. I have a 73.5 avg right now, we are two exams into the semester. Next exam is on March 21st (on diabetes and respiratory). I am so nervous, stresses, scared and sad. I have stepped up my study game to (on top of the reading and note cards) to buying a lecture recorder and I'll be retyping the notes that are posted by the instructors (a suggestion of one of the instructors). I guess the only thing I have left to do on top of all this is blast out as many NCLEX questions as possible. I find that when I review the chapters questions and the questions from The Point website I have the knowledge but when I sit down for the tests ... it's a mess, I find that I am having a hard time chosing between the two RIGHT answers ...

Is there ANY other advise out there ???

Praying just isn't cutting it anymore.

Yuppers I am :) but I got through thank god! and I even got that spot on the weekend clinicals that I needed. Other wise I would have had to choose between my job and this schooling and it's just not an option ... I need both. So hey PM me and we'll chat! :)

The one thing that works for me....since I too experience "test anxiety" ( and that is what you are going through..very understandable ...it's your career on the line) With multiple choice: look at the answers ..carefully...before you even read the question...then read the question..beware of always, never. sometimes. Then eliminate the obviously WRONG answers...if you study like I do...and it sounds like you do..that will prob get rid of 2 ...then you just compare the last 2 remaining answers. ALWAYS answer the questions YOU KNOW first..come back to the harder ones, this builds your confidence and eases your stress. Good luck , and hang in there!!

Another thing that helps is underlining what the question is asking...that will help you pick from the two answers that seem correct. One is just more correct than the other based off the question.
