On-line nursing programs for community colleges

Hi,

I am currently accepted into an on-line program that starts in August at a local community college. All classroom work is done by computer and I have to go 1 day a week to the hospital to attend clinicals. I would like to know if anyone else has gotten their degree this way and what it was like, for instance, how much time you spent studying.

I did distance but for my BS/MS program. I hope someone can help you. I spent alot of time studying. You have to be very self motivated to do distance.

I got accepted into the lpn-rn program (weekend program)which began in jan of this year. This semester we meet q other weekened, next semester it will be 3 weekend out of the month. I choose to work was the 3-11.. so that during the daytime I can concentrate on my studies while everyone is away(less distractions and or interuptions). There are several exams that are given online, except for the final (next week I might add) exams and quizes. I find that you do have to be very disciplined to participate in programs like these. Unlike the generic programs which allows access to the instructors more readily because of the classroom time.

I am taking some classes for RN to BSN. You must be organized and motivated. It's great so that you can do it at what times you like. It's VERY easy to put things off and wait to the last minute. Stay on top of everything! I spend LOADS of time. More than if I was in the classroom. It has it's pro's and con's. Good Luck to you!!!!
