On-line advanced EFM course & test?

Hi. I am a newbie on here and looking for an answer to the question above. My certification has expired and I want to get ready to do a travel assignment in late Sept. Does anyone know if I can do the whole thing on-line? Many thanks!

You can do the beginner class online, but I believe for the intermediate and advanced, you need to do them in a class. I haven't seen any online options.

awhonn has online competency assessments. there is no online intermediate or advanced classes.

I just went through this. I missed the last awhonn intermediate class that my job provided for free in March. The next class offered by my job isn't until December or January. I am looking for a new job so I really needed to have it urgently because most hospitals want to see that you have some efm knowledge. I almost signed up for a $300 course 30 miles away from my home because it was the next available date. I just went ahead and took the NCC exam because I could schedule that at any time. Plus it's cheaper. But i was desperately combing the Internet for online courses and they do not exist. You have to go to an in person 2 day course. Awhonn doesn't want anyone taking shortcuts.

Hospitals/educators set their own prices for the AWHONN courses. It's sounds like that $300 course might be a rip off unless they're putting you up for those 2 days!

I took my Advanced course in one day and paid $100 plus the cost of course materials (about $200 total). Which I believe is about the same as the NNC exam. And speaking as a travel nurse, the AWHONN class has been more valuable than the NCC certification.

Every advanced course I found was one day and about $100 also. It's the intermediate courses, however, that ranged from $200-$450 because it's two days. It's true that most of the instructors are kinda independent contractors, so to speak. If I was certified to teach such a valuable course I would charge a lot too. Heck, I almost paid $300 for it I'm sure I wouldn't have been the only one in that class.
