On campus or online

I really want to continue my education up to at least my BSN! but here's the thing, I don't want to wait and if I do on campus I have to, I moved out of state temporarily and don't want to start at any schools out here because I may not be finished when I move back, it just seems like a lot of hassle and I might as well wait (and the town I'm from has an AMAZING LPN-RN bridge program) But I was looking into other options, like excelsior. I just want to know what your opinions are on this matter. I really want to start ASAP, I love being in school and now seems like the perfect time if I choose the online option. Also the local college back home has crazy high standards which gives me a lot of anxiety because I am afraid I won't get in.

Specializes in ER.

I would look into Excelsior carefully. I know at least California will not license nurses as an RN who had their initial education at Excelsior. I have seen people post about trying to find a RN to BSN program that has clinical hours to get the necessary clinical hours as an RN in order to be licensed in CA. They will not even accept people who try to do an endorsement.

I tried to look for the posting on Excelsior at the Board of Nursing CA website but it won't load for some reason. I think the cutoff date was for those who began their education before 2006.

However, many people have gone through Excelsior and are happy with it.
