I work for LACounty and Olive View is a great facility, they're building a new Er and are really on the move. Civil service interviews determine your eligibility for the available positions. Have you taken the math test? 25 questions usually with simple conversions and is part of the process of getting on the item list. Once you're on the list, depending on your band, you'll be called by specific managers to interview for actual positions. Your band placement is dependent on your score from the initial interview and the test. Good luck.

Hi dijaqrn,
Thanks for the quick response. No, I haven't taken the test yet, I am planning on going Monday to the nurse recruitment office. Any advice you can offer? I am a Surgical Technologist, 2 years of experience.

Hi,
Does anybody from the forum work/worked for Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, CA?
I know it's a county facility, is it hard to get hired on at a county facility? I have to take a civil interview, anybody have experience with that?
Thanks.
