Older LVN with Expired License news advice

I am 65 years old with an expired LVN license. The past few years of my work was with medically fragile children in their homes. Now, I am considering retaking my boards, taking some refresher courses, then going on to get my RN. I think I would like to work in a level two nursery, but am not sure if I could handle it. I don't want a position that is very stressful, but I cannot lift patients, etc. either.

Any input would be very appreciated. I have been researching schools and have an appointment with a local community college today.

In addition, at this time, I have a husband who had a lung transplant some years back and I am basically his medical manager. Keeping him out of the hospital as much as possible, is one of my major goals, but it does take time. None the less, I am looking to the future, as honestly, I do not see him making it beyond a few years and I don't want to wait until then to start.

Does it sound like I am nuts to even think about doing this?

I think it would be a lot to take on at age 65. Maybe you could find something that didn't require a license? Most facilities will rule you out if you cannot lift.
