Hello everyone! I've been reading the boards for a long time, but now I have some questions!! I want to get into nursing. What are the steps I should take? I know it's worth it to be a RN, but is it easier to go to PN school then go to RN school? What are the good schools around. I know there are quite a few around OKC. Any information at all will help greatly!

Thanks!

Hi and :welcome: to allnurses! Good luck in school. It'd be more worth your while to go ahead and graduate from an RN nursing program if you can afford to take the two years rather than the one for PN program. Your local community college would be a good place to start info gathering. They could get you set up with a counselor who would be able to give specifics of the nursing programs of their college. Or point you in the right direction to a particular school that has nursing programs. Hope this helps. It may be that you could take the prerequisites for nursing before you dive into the nursing program itself, lengthening, of course, your time frame. That's what lot of folks do who are also working while going to school. As I said, good luck!

hello there. its good for you to take bsn course then right after that take the pnlex for you to be a register nurse.
