a nurse at vinta, oklahoma was killed when a gunman entered the er at vinita hospital and began firing! the nurse killed was deanna dorsey. i would like to extend my sympathy to the family of the victim. i do not know ms. dorsey personally but i have delivered pts. to vinita's er on many occasions. so perhaps our paths have crossed. i hope that hospitals will come to realize the need for better security at hospitals. and perhaps this will move legilatures to provide a better system to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill. by the way the gunman had previous convictions and an extensive history of mental illness.

god bless her and her loved ones!!(note i do not want this thread to turn into a gun ownership debate; this man most likely did not obtain his fire arm by legal means)please pray for her family!!

My sincere sympathy to the family, friends and coworkers of Ms. Dorsey. This is a shame when you literally have to put your life on the line just to go to work.

My sympathy to the family of Ms Dorsey also. My prayers will go with in this time.

We must all pray God keeps us safe in His arms everywhere.

My sympathy and prayers also go to Deanna Dorsey and her family...

I wish administrators would consider workplace violence issues more seriously. Everyone has such a big thing with prevention now...I think prevention of workplace violence is a pretty darn valid issue.
