Instead of the extra schoolin', try to get a PCT job in the OR, or after starting nursing school, see if there is an extern position in the OR.
No education is needless knowledge, but time may/may not be better spent...

is there a difference between a peri-op nurse and a med surg nurse? lets say i want to be in the OR when i am done with school, would it be a good idea to start out a surgical techinician? the school i go to offers a 1.5 year program for surg. tech. basically im willing to spend an extra few years in college to get out of waiting tables now.
