OHSU Ashland selection process???

Published

Hi all,

This is my first post, and I have a few questions, so bear with me!

First, I am a 26 year old single mom, and I will be applying to both OHSU Ashland and RCC for Fall 2014 entry. I'm curious if OHSU conducts interviews for applicants. Also, I know it varies from year-to-year, but I'm wondering if students that have applied would share their GPA/completed pre-reqs? I currently have a 4.0, but I will be receiving a B in A&P3 at the end of this term, which should bring me to a 3.92 approximately. I will have all of my pre-requisites done except for A&P2 (I took them out of order to avoid taking A&P2 over summer with an already full course load). RCC breaks down the point allotment pretty clearly, and it will benefit me to apply after this term is transcripted (better to lose one point on my GPA, but gain 3 for having completed two out of the three A&P classes), but I'm not sure about OHSU. I know they look at GPA and the essay, but is that it?? I'm just trying to figure out when I should apply, and what would be most beneficial.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi!I'm 30 with 3 kids under 6 and applying to both programs as well. I've been told that RCC weighs heavily on points and GPA. I've also been told the OHSU Ashland likes non-traditional students that are well rounded and don't typically go strictly off of GPA. It's always so interesting to me how OCNE schools can be so different. Talk about frustrating. Bottom line, just hoping to get in somewhere! Good luck to you:).

oh wow... you take 3 A&P classes? In Florida we take 2 semesters.
