Well, I am ecstatic to say that today's mail contained a large envelope from OHSU which held a letter stating that I have been accepted into OHSUs BSN program! After jumping around the house for 5 minutes I am ready to buy drinks for everyone!
Ya, that was me!!! Now I am never going to be able to live that down... I promise I wasn't trying to sabotage you :)Oh and thank you, I was extremely nervous for the interview.. You did a GREAT job!! I left that interview thinking that I would be a long-shot to get in, because there were so many great and more qualified applicants! But now it's on to OHSU!!!!!
congrats again to everyone!!!
Evan, I was sitting next to you. That was funny that you had the essay.
At first, I did not pass the name tag to you guys.
I'm excited to be joining you at the Portland campus! I loved the earlier quote about feeling like you won the golden ticket- thats totally how i feel. Have you all taken Microbiology? I was looking at the schedule of classes from last year and it looks like Micro is a pre-req for the 2nd term classes. I'm thinking I'm going to take it this summer so that fall term will be a little less overwhelming. Might as well get back into the swing of studying I suppose!
I took Micro fall of 2009 out at PCC/Rock Creek w/ ------- he was awesome! I heard such good things about him from other prospective nursing students that I drove all that way to take it from him. I don't see that he's teaching it summer term, though. I would definitely recommend taking it summer!
I will look forward to meeting you!
I finished microbiology last term at Cascade and I have to say it was one of my favorite classes. The lab was fascinating and subject matter just really fascinated me. I had a great professor there as well. Perhaps we should arrange a meet-and-greet sometime during the summer over lunch or coffee sometime for all of us here heading to OHSU.
When they say they took only 24 cohorts, are they saying that TOTAL nursing student acceptance was 24 students out of all the applicants? I can't imagine. Clarification anyone?
I heard this as well via the grapevine. Last year they had 32 BSN spots (8 per clinical instructor) at the PORTLAND campus. Apparently because of state funding budget cuts they lost one clinical instructor and thus the 24 number (again only at the Portland campus). All rumor and I have no way to verify but it is what I was told.
