Ohlone College- RN program Fall 2014/Spring 2015

Hi, has anyone received any news from Ohlone with lottery results or acceptance letters?

They still haven't posted anything online so just wondering if we'd receive news via email first.

We received a check off list of things to do before we start in the fall. I'm planning to go over all my immunizations and complete the physical with my physician altogether so she can sign off the paperwork at once. There's a form your physician needs to fill out for the physical so you should wait for the email from Ohlone first. You could get started on your immunizations or check if you've done them (hep b, MMR, tetorifice (within 10 years), and chicken pox) I think 2 step PPD needs to be done yearly so you should wait for that one too.

It also said the CPR for healthcare providers need to be valid throughout the entire two years of the program. Maybe you can renew your CPR midway in the program since you already have it. The flu shot needs to be done AFTER September 2014 when the new vaccine comes out.

I've also read some of your other posts, lol. I believe you should choose Ohlone! I've heard so many wonderful things about the nursing program. I love how we can apply to transfer to CSUEB afterward and complete the ASN-BSN bridge program. I also love their new Newark campus, it's so green! Even though you have to wait a little longer, I think it's worth the wait!

Thank you so much for your interest in my situation! And your info was very helpful. I just feel so overwhelmed with new information and scared to make a wrong choice. I was leaning towards Ohlone in the first place but I learnt about myself that I need time to make the right decision and not rush.

I think I got most of my immunizations done cuz I started volunteering at the hospital so I had to provide all of it about 5 months ago. I certainly have things to do for fall while wait for spring semester to start. I want to take pharmacology class and pathophysiology, also spanish will be helpful (always wanted to do that).

BTW, welcome to website. I myself been visiting this website for awhile before finally registered. I find so much help and support here, I can't even express how amazing it is to share ur experience with others. Let's keep each other posted on updates. I would love to hear ur feedback from 1st semester. Thanks again!

Does Ohlone has a Pharmacology class in their program? I didn't see one.

Question for fall 2014 accepted applicants:

Did you have a deadline to submit your "intent to enroll" by? And if so, what was that date?

I am fairly high on the spring 2015 tentative acceptance list and I'm trying to gauge whether or not I'll be moving up into fall 2014. Just wanted to get an idea.

No...if you look at the acceptance letter, it says we'll get info at the end of September after the fall class has started and settled in...
