Ohio University Southern RN program?

Published

I am applying for the fall to the OU Southern RN program. I take my HESI on the 14th and am REALLY nervous to get accepted. I've heard that its really easy to get into OU Southern's RN program, as long as you pass everything you need your in...at least thats what I heard.

But I'm worried about Nursing school simply because of my job. I'm a Dog Groomer at a Vet clinic, the only one there, I have a LOT of clients and its hard enough working and going to school NOW taking all my pre-req's. I can't quit my job because I love it to much and I have a responsibility to my clients, also the money is good so I just can't quit.

Basically I want to know how the nursing classes/clinicals are at OU Southern?

I will only have 2 pre-req's to go if i get in for the fall, Bio 1131 and Microbiology so just 1 extra class for 2 semesters. I already have over 50 credit hours of electives so I don't know if i'll be doing anything else but nursing classes if i'm part time that is FINE by me!

Basically, will i have time to work at LEAST 3 days a week along with school and clinicals? plus i want to know about how much homework i'll have and tests etc...I figured I would start here with those who have been in the classes before i ask the school...of course they'll sugar coat it...i just want flat out good or bad info....

Thanks for everything ahead of time!

Sounds good. Make sure to post back and let me know if you get in :o)

I got accepted to OU: southern!

Just got my letter yesterday in the mail!!!

I go June 17th to the Orientation....

Congratulations! I wish you the best :)

Thanks...Hey could you give me some info on Scrubs for the classes? it says on the website that its a 150$ fee (one time) but i don't know how many outfits that includes, if it includes a watch, shoes, etc...???

Also I seen that you mentioned the clinical's are one day? i don't know if you stated it that way or if i misread it, but they told us it would be 2 days of classes and 2 days of clinical's, and that the clinical's are about 6-8 hours long...not 12?

With the way they have it set up, we would know when the clinical's would be every week up to 10 days before the beginning of a quarter...AND that starting our 6th week in the first quarter we start clinical's??? I don't know if this is something new or not?

and I AM going to try to take my last 2 pre req's online this summer, I would much rather do that then have to go to school 2 extra days a week just for one class...which is the way it seems to be set up..i'm going to call CCConline tomorrow (as im having problems with accessing their registration portal) and hopefully OU to see if those credits would transfer...

If theres anything else you can say about the program please don't hesitate, U can private message me names, (since it seems they delete those on here,) of teachers or people in general to avoid and those that will actually help....!!!

And hey maybe ill see you around campus this year? unless you graduate this summer that is?
