Has anybody taken this class at Western Oklahoma State College? If so, how was it and do you really need the book? Thinking about taking it in the 4th 4 week session. Price is right and can get another elective out of the way.

Here's what I found on the website that makes me question it.

What if I am already enrolled in a 4 week online course for this semester? Will I be able to take my course?

Important information for all 4th 4 week PRE-ENROLLED students:

Please be advised of the following as it relates to your pre-enrolled 4th 4 week online course status.

  1. As an accredited institution of higher education all Western courses, in any format, are transferrable to your host institution.
  2. Concurrent enrolled high school students may continue in the 4th 4 week course session of the Spring 2013 semester if they were pre-enrolled.
  3. All other 4th 4 week pre-enrolled students may opt out of the course and are encouraged to enroll in a summer session course.
  4. Those pre- enrolled non-concurrent students who opt to continue in the 4th 4 week course are strongly advised to check with your host institution to verify acceptance of the course.
  5. Any pre-enrolled student who decides to withdraw from the course will receive a full-refund of the course fee.

My advisor said as long as the institution is still regionally accredited and they allow students to complete courses they have already begun then we will accept the credit for transfer.

My advisor also said since we began the course it will be accepted. However, she advised strongly not to enroll in any others without checking with them.

My advisor said the similar thing. The school is still accredited. I am so glad I can continue this course even though the workload is a bit heavier than expected. The seats for this class at my local community college are so limited that I don't think I would be able to enroll there.

How is this class going for the people in it?

The quiz part is actually not bad. It's open book, and there is enough time to check the book for answers if you skim the chapters beforehand. one 750+ word paper, two concert attendance, and two discussion responses are not hard, but I don't know if the grading will be easy or not.
