Ohio State Traditional Masters

Published

Hey everyone! I recently applied to OSU's FNP program. Not the graduate entry, the traditional one for those who already have a BSN. The deadline was January 15th, so obviously it will be awhile before they make decisions. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight into how competitive the FNP program was for traditional entry. I applied for on-campus as my first choice and online as my second choice (that's new for this year, you can choose to specialties or formats to be considered). Again, I know it's extremely early but really appreciate any info!

Thanks!

Specializes in Med-Surg, Endoscopy.

Congrats!!!!!!we will have to exchange info at some point.

Specializes in Psychiatric Nursing.

Thanks! Definitely!

Congrats on your acceptance!!!! I too was accepted. I applied for acute care and looking to network with others.

Specializes in Critical Care/ICU.

Bad news here :grumpy: OSU was the only application and I didn't get accepted. Will take the summer off, regroup, and reconsider my options for other schools. For peace of mind, what are everyone's stats that were accepted? For instance: Did you take the GRE? What is your current job experience? Did you apply PT or FT? etc. That way I know if I am wasting my time reapplying next year. I am an ICU charge nurse with 8 yrs of experience, 3.65 GPA, and applied for the PT online option. Thanks!

That sucks :-( Sorry to hear that. I had a 3.78 (4.0 in science and math). I didn't take the GRE. I've been in the ICU for 5 years and I took 1 of the Core courses. Not sure if that's much help

I applied to the online FNP, had the online interview, and I haven't heard back yet...the suspense is killing me. Has anyone else heard back about FNP?
