Where do you go for study RN program in Akron/Canton/Cleveland?

I need some advice for good nursing schools that offer RN programs in Akron/Canton or Cleveland area?? Or LPN programs ?

I just recently relocated to the Akron area but I am commuting my last semester to finish at Lorain County Community College. I've heard that Cuyahoga Community College and the University of Akron have great programs also.

WiWii - I am currently enrolled in a new accelerated RN program, with no waiting list, at Akron Institute. It's located on Arlington Street, near Waterloo Road. Depending on whether you have completed any prerequisites, determines the length of time to complete the program. If you have not completed any, you can feasibly graduate as an associate RN in 18 months. It has some advantages....books are included, no paid parking, all in one building, etc.

I also completed my LPN program at Akron School of Practical Nursing. It was an absolutely awesome program, with excellent instructors, and has been around for many years. It has a very good reputation. Not sure about the waiting list thing. I believe their program is now around 10 months....so I say, go straight for the RN, if you can.

Stark State in Canton has an associate RN program, with a waiting list of about 2 years, unless you are currently an LPN. Of course, there's always Akron University (waiting list) and Kent State (waiting list).

Thank you Lookup2sky. I dont have any degee in nursing but I have a bachelor in Biology. I am interesting in accelerated RN program that you talking about. However i think I need to completed prerequisites which I need your advice. Which school is good to start off for RN program in Akron area?

WiWii - Having any kind of a bachelor's degree, puts you one foot forward! I know Akron University offers an accelerated, full-time program, that lasts 15 months, for anyone who already has a bachelor's degree in ANY other field. I am not sure, but maybe no waiting list!! Also, because you have the general prerequisites like algebra, english, etc., it would cut off classes you have to take (and money you have to spend) at Akron Institute, as well.

If I were you...strictly suggestion...I would check Akron U about a waiting period for someone who already has a bachelor's degree. If there is a waiting list, and you don't want to wait, check out Akron Institute. Also, I believe Kent State most likely would offer what Akron U offers.

actually Kent State does NOT have a waiting list. applicants are admitted strictly based off their GPA of pre-nursing science classes. there are 100 spots each year so if you are in the top 100 GPAs, you can get accepted for that semester.
