Can Ohio LPNs give IV push medications if they have a current ACLS certification?

Not unless the BoN deems it within the LPN scope of practice. ACLS course completion card is irrelevant.

ACLS is irrelevant and not a substitute for LPN-IV. Only LPN-IV can basically run fluids and antibiotics in consultation with an RN and only on patients age 18+.

ACLS is relevant for anybody that works in hospital settings. I'm aware what LPNs can and can't do with IV certifications. Some states allow their LPNs do emergency IV Push medications as long as a they either A. Under the supervision of an RN or providor or they have a current ACLS certification.

Also I have read OBN from top to bottom and yes it says LPN cannot give IV push medication but doesn't list if they are ACLS certified if they can or cannot.

OBoN doesn't recognize ACLS only IV therapy. I've only seen completing ACLS permit an RN in facilities to initiate standing order protocols in relation to ACLS never an LPN. OBoN is pretty specific that LPNs are not qualified to assess only collect data. One must have the authority to assess to initiate ACLS protocols whether a physician, RN, paramedic etc.

Since the authority to initiate IV, run specific fluids and monitor/maintain peripheral IV lines is specifically limited to OBoN authorized IV LPNs this would not extrapolate to LPNs who pass ACLS or permit a facility to allow an LPN without IV certification to work with IVs or any LPN to push emergency cardiac drugs via IV.
