Ohio Board of Nursing....HELP!

Published

Hi. I am moving from a different state and applying for an Ohio license by examination. I graduated in May and have a job lined up and am due to start on July 23. I jump through all the hoops to apply for my license including driving the 1.5 hours each way to get my electronic fingerprints so I am assured timely results sent to the board. I have them done May 24 and they are sent to the board on May 25th. The rest of the hoops are jumped and my application is sent the first week of June by certified mail. Last Thursday I receive a letter and I am all excited that it is my permission to test. WRONG!! It's a letter saying they don't have my fingerprints and includes 2 fingerprint cards. I call the fingerprint people and they tell me they sent my results on the 25th and they will send them again that day. I call the OBN and nothing. It goes to voicemail and they say they will get back to me in 2 business days. I give them 3 days and nothing. I call again....nothing. I email.....nothing. I finally get a hold of someone and explain my situation. She says she has to walk across the hall to look up my file and doesn't know if she will get to it that day(Thursday), but will absolutely call me back Friday. I call Friday at 1pm and she's in a meeting, so I leave a voicemail. I try calling again at 3 and 4 and no one answers. My future is depending on getting that permission. One of my classmates also went to Ohio for a job and she already got permission and tested and passed!!! Does anyone have any advice for me? I am getting really upset. Thanks for listening to the long rant.

I feel your panic but please calm down, attempt to call the OBON on Monday, speak to that person, and refresh their memory. I was having some problems, spoke to a real person and they were so helpful and nice, I was ready to go in less than 5 days. I wish you luck on the boards.
