You sound to me to be the BEST person to assume this role at this time. You know what needs to be done, and you are already doing it most likely. You have been in the trenches and can whip the unruly staffers into shape (by showing all that you don't mind messing up your manicure...). It would be temporary right? You already sound like you could do this job well. I don't want you to slit your throat over it though! I hope you find your way to a decision. Just remember, you have the option to be in a powerful position where you can change things for the better!
