I am on an ICU and as an AN that means there is naff all for me to do!

so i am now on my first break... apparently i will get about four and I am so bored!

i have done all my work i brought with me and am now debating whether it would be rude to sit reading LOTR!!

oh well just wanted to share this

Nah, it's not rude to start reading. Just check out the mood of your collegues before you need to fart or belch. Picking your orifice is usually unacceptable though.

Hey... if you're "nightshift bored", you might want to get with Ted for some suggestions ! :chuckle He seems to always come up with some doozies ! ;)

in case anyone thought I spoke too soon, and actually became rushed off my feet I wasn't! just on my later break, the computers were being used by SHOs so I had to go back to my book.

I did come of my course work, and read fellowship of the ring and half of two towers.

i think i was needed to help with three turns and four log rolls. I made three trays of staff drinks and two for relatives. Like I said I was bored, I like it when i have jobs to do, on nights I will happily sit folding yellow bags or pinnies for hours!

but it is over now, I had about an hours sleep when i got in and am back on days tomorrow...really sleepy but I want to stay up and watch the keeping the faith on bbc2, it sounds really good.

anyhow thanks for reading my drivel.

Am now on a night shift myself. Though I'm not bored!! Am cream-crackered infact. I wish never to work a night shift EVER again!! Please. My back is aching, I should be in bed at home asleep. Never mind, only 5 1/2 hours to go on this shift (if I leave on time!) and another 3 nights after this one. Then 2 days off (well 1 sleep day and 1 day off), then back on days again! Hurrah! I have no body clock. Trying to look on positive side.......erm.

positive side of working nights....

well for me as a bank AN I don't usually have to put up with realtives or consultants or ward politics

I like using my break time to do some reading.

But the main reason is the money, If I do a saturady night I get saturday pay, and night bonus and sunday pay plus night bonus. It means I don't have to work as many hours for the money!

However I loose my body clock, I have also had to do an early go home to bed and then get up to go work a night a few times.

I hope you get through your run of nights,
