we are supposed to visit a clinical site about 2 hours away for clinical. Its not mandatory but optional.

Some peeps go up the night before and share a room, eat out, etc.

There is an option if you dont want to go of town.

My question is this have you ever gone out of town for clinicals,

what was your experience like?

Did you share a room?? and with whom?

any tips for a trip like this is appreciated.

Kinda strange doing this .

thanks for listening.

Interesting clinical experience. I'm going to move this into the student nursing discussion forum for more ideas. I personally didn't do anything like that in school, but you may as well make a day of it if there are co-students you get along well enough with :).

I commute to a school 65 miles away, and some of my clinicals are up to 120 miles from my home. I'm just going to have to tough it out on those days (12h days at that) and make the drive - don't know that staying out is an option for my budget..

We are doing a field trip to a large childrens' medical center in a city about a 3-4h drive from here (just to make us even more miserable, they scheduled 12h clinical days immediately before AND after this all-day trip). The evening before the trip (and after clinical), a few of us are going to drive up and share a room - just some of us that have previously had clinicals with and sit nearby each other in class. :)
