offered internship, what happens if I don't pass nclex on first try?

Published

Hi All. I live in Dayton OH and have been offered an internship at one of our local hospitals. Does anyone live around here or know what will happen if I don't pass nclex on the first try? I am so nervous that I am going to fail nclex (which I think most new grads worry about), and then also to miss out on the internship opportunity, well that would be double awful! Thanks for any advice you have!

You need to pose this question to the people who offered you the internship. But think positive, prepare well, and pass. Then it will be a moot point.

Chances are the internship has designated starting dates. So one would think that your offer for the internship is conditional upon passing the exam and if you fail your offer will be rescinded. But it's possible (slightly) the hospital might hold your spot.

Everyone worries about passing the NCLEX. Remember that over 85% of people pass the first time. So think positive and take the NCLEX soon! Statistics show that the sooner you take it after graduation, the more likely you are to pass.

I'm moving to Dayton after graduation in December. I plan on applying for RN internships in September. Any advice???
