ODU CRNA 2024 Start

Published

Hi everyone! I’m looking to see who has applied to the CRNA program at ODU this year (2024 start.) Has anyone heard back yet about interviews or anything else?

Hi there! I applied for this cycle but for a 2023 start not 2024? But I got an email today for an interview!

I also applied for 2023 start and got an email for interview today! I interview 10/18! :)

I applied for a 2023 start too! Got my email yesterday interviewing 10/18 as well!

anyone familiar with their interview process?

?‍♀️ I meant 2023 start not 2024

I also got an invite yesterday to interview and will be doing so on Oct 18! Anyone have any information about the faculty and what they like to see in an interview?

Current ODU student here. We have a new program director as of this year so I’m not sure if the interview process has changed. Know your MOA of your pressors, why you want to be a CRNA, why this school, some common disease processes. But that would be advice I’d give about interviewing for any program. I’m attaching a few links that I used when preparing for my interview. Common questions people get. I answered every single question in a word document and then turned the document into 2 quizlets (clinical deck and personal deck). I then memorized all the answers and make sure you practice saying them out loud! And if you don’t know an answer, don’t *** them. Just say you don’t know and move on. They’ll be able to tell if you’re faking it. Good luck to everyone! You’ll get a mentor from the class a year up from you so maybe I’ll be meeting one of you soon!

Thank you for responding!  I have one interview before it, which will be my first CRNA interview ever, then ODU.  Odu is where I want to go but I am so nervous.  They said they will send more info about the interview when it gets closer.  How in depth should should I be able to explain moas of meds?  Did they focus more clinical or emotional?  I have so many questions.

Like I said… I can’t say exactly how it’ll go with ODU since there’s a new director. I had a few interviews, one of which they did ask me about certain meds down to the cellular level. ODU was a mix of both personal and clinical questions. I was over prepared but I would prefer to know too much than not be prepared for a question they asked. I attached some examples of what I used on my quizlets to kinda steer you in the right direction.

Very helpful information. Thank you!! Do you know how many people they interview compared to how many they accept?

Does anyone know how many seats ODU has for the CRNA program? I’ve read online acceptance rate is 50%. Anyone know if this is close to accurate?

for our cohort they interviewed 90ish people. 22 are in the class.
