Hello, I am currently studying for the re-write to the OCN exam. Unfortunately, I did not pass the last exam. Does anyone have any suggestions about re-studying or any tips to help me pass the next one? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Anna :wink2:

dear anna, don't be discouraged they say almost 30 percent first time takers fail. I did in 1996. Passed in 2000, 2004, and just took it again aug 29th, and passed. I bought the core curriculum practice questions book, not the text and studied from there, and there is a website called oncology nursing review forum 4th edition that actual 200 question practice tests, and study sections where it tells you the rationales for the right and wrong answers. I studied for about 3 months and wrote out flash cards and kept them with me at all times to just keep reading the things i thought were most important. Good luck and try it again, now you know what you're up against and thats half the battle they also say 90-95 percent of retakers passed!!! So go for it!!!

there is s cd disc with i think 2000-3ooo questions on it ;oncology review or something like that
it is awesome. i used it to study for AOCNP since there aren't specific AOCNP study guides and passed.
You can review all the questions, flag the ones u get wrong and read the
rationales for the correct answer. Trust me when u can start taking sample exams and get 90+ % consistently, u will pass OCN!
By the way, OCN is a tough exam. Some of the stuff, I knew because I am an NP
but I am impressed with how much an OCN has to have under his/her belt.
I will try to get the exact name of the disc later this week when i get back to work
