OCCC Spring 2016

Hi everyone! Wondering who is applying to OCCC traditional RN program for spring of 2016 like me, deadline is Sept 4th. :)

I am! How many preference points are you going in with? I'm going in with 17 and a 3.75 GPA, and I feel pretty confident with that.

Apparently the 8th alternate got in this fall with only 14 or 15.

I heard similar, this semester was the first round with the new points system used. I have applied before with 18pts and gotten in twice but unenrolled due to life stuff. I am applying with 16 or 17 this time on the new system since my CNA expired.

I am also applying. Claire Echols told me that the cutoff for fall this last semester was 13 points with the alternatives included. I am applying with 14 points for the spring, which is probably pretty borderline.

Hey guys!

Good luck with the applications! If you need CPR certification prior to entering the program, I wanted to offer you my information. I live in Yukon, and I currently offer the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course. Courses can be held at our training site or your home, place of business, school, church....just about anywhere on your schedule. I offer individual and group sessions.

Call me at (405) 999-6644 for course availability and rates. Thanks!

Ricky

I applied to the program with 15 points and a 3.38 GPA. I hope more people come forward so we can get an idea of what the points look like! I am soo anxious to know whether I got in or not. The cutoff for last fall was 13 points. Echols told me she thinks the cutoff is going to be 15 for this spring but I'm not sure if that is including alternates or not. Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone! I submitted my application with 15 points and a GPA of 3.72. It will be 4-6 weeks before we hear anything right?

Hi JStacey! When I submitted my application the lady at the admissions office said that it will more than likely be closer to the 4 week mark when we will be notified but that it can take up to six weeks. I

I applied to the program with 18 preference points and a 3.8 GPA

hello!!!!everybody....I am so anxious to know the result. I submitted my application with 15 point GPA 3.62.... hope all of us heard good news ASAP.:sneaky:

Hello,

I applied with 16 points and a 3.7 GPA. Hope we find out beginning of OCT.

I applied with 14 points and a 3.2 GPA. That's probably pretty boarder line but i really hope not...

If I don't get in for the spring, I'm applying to OU and OCCC nursing program for the fall. For OU, I've heard it really just depends upon if you have the requirements and GPA. When I spoke to someone at OU, she told me the average GPA of those who were accepted was a 3.2, in case anyone was thinking of also applying there. I'll have at least 17 points when I apply in the fall at OCCC.
