OCCC BADNAP Class of 2011

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hey,

I was just checking to see who all will be attending the OCCC BADNAP program starting this June. If you are, let me know~:)

If anyone needs books, there is someone posting the same books on Craigslist for $275. I have mine or I would buy them. That is a good deal, check it out.

Hi! Has anyone started the readings yet? I started tonight.

Orientation had my head spinning!

Angie S

I started mine last Saturday. Ton of reading. We are at a disadvantage when both Angel and ATI are not populated with the stuff we need for the first weeks assignment. Orientation for me was the description of hell. A short description would have been fine with me, I would have liked to have started the lecture. Anxiety levels seem to run high in there. I've got some skills videos by the books author and been watching those for lab. I need to get to the library and watch some more videos. I need to lookup the campus schedule. I'm waiting on the publisher to email me errata sheets. It's a hurry up and wait scenario. Feels like the Army once again.

take care,

Not yet. I am still in "getting organized" mode. Any ideas?

I'm trying. Feel overwhelmed already. Need scrubs, stethoscope and shoes. Got books and lab kit, patches and badge.

I feel that I have made huge progress-I am organized! I have a calendar. I have tabs for everything in a binder. I've sewn on patched (which took forever). I did not like how the velcro made the patch stick out so much. If they get ugly, I will replace them. I have purchased everything. Now, let the reading begin!

Where did you get your calendar? Is it a day planner?

I have more than one calendar. I printed weekly calendars free from this website:

http://www.blankcalendar.org/weekly_calendars.htm

I went throught the syllabus and stuff, twice, to make sure I had all of the due dates correct.

That's great! I'll check it out. Thanks!

As far as lab coats go, are you guys getting the fancy ones with the collar, or are you getting the more comfortable ones with the elastic wristbands and no collar?

I purchased by lab coats from amazon.com. They have collars, and they do not have elastic waist bands. I think they were between $20-$25 each (I bought two). They seem fine. I did not look at many different styles, I admit.

The elastic wrist bands get dirty easily and become dingy after a few washes. We had them in micro. I'm going to get regular sleeved lab coat.
